If you need a home visit please telephone between 09.30 and 10.30 if possible. This will help us to plan our rounds. Very few illnesses prevent surgery attendance.
Please try to come to the surgery where you will receive attention sooner and the doctor is able to carry out a more thorough examination. Home visits are for those who are physically housebound or genuinely too ill to get out.
It is generally perfectly safe to bring children with temperatures and rashes to the surgery. Please make sure you leave a contact number in case the doctor needs to speak to you. This is particularly important if you are calling on behalf of the patient.
You can be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
